Getting Started

How do I create my first project?
To create your first project, click the Projects tab in the top navigation, then click the + New Project button. Fill in the project name, select a template if needed, invite team members, and click Create. Your project will be ready immediately with a default task list and timeline view.
How do I invite team members to MDX Space?
Go to Team in the top navigation and click Invite Member. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite, select their role (Admin, Member, or Viewer), and click Send Invite. They will receive an email with a link to join your workspace. Pending invites can be managed from the Team page.
Can I import data from other project management tools?
Yes! MDX Space supports CSV imports for tasks and projects. Go to Settings → General and look for the Import Data section. We support imports from Asana, Trello, Monday.com, and generic CSV formats. After import, all tasks will be organized under a new project automatically.

Projects & Tasks

How do I set task dependencies?
Open any task by clicking on it, then scroll to the Dependencies section in the task detail panel. Click Add Dependency and search for the task that must be completed first. Dependencies are also visualized in the Timeline view, where you'll see connecting lines between dependent tasks.
How do I track time spent on tasks?
Open a task and click the Start Timer button to begin tracking. The timer runs in the background even if you navigate away. Click Stop when done. You can also log time manually by entering hours and minutes directly. Time logs are visible in task details and included in project reports.
Can I set recurring tasks?
Yes. When creating or editing a task, click on the Recurrence option and choose a frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or custom. Recurring tasks automatically generate a new instance when the current one is completed. All recurring tasks are visible in the Calendar view with a recurrence indicator.

Team Management

What are the different team member roles?
MDX Space has three roles: Admin (full access including billing, settings, and member management), Member (can create and manage projects and tasks, cannot change workspace settings), and Viewer (read-only access to assigned projects, cannot create or edit content). Client portal users have a separate access level managed under client settings.
How do I remove a team member from the workspace?
Go to Team, find the member you want to remove, and click the three-dot menu next to their name. Select Remove from Workspace. They will lose access immediately. Any tasks assigned to them will remain but show as unassigned. You can reassign these tasks from the project task list before or after removal.
Can I set project-level permissions for specific members?
Yes. Open the project, go to Settings → Share & Permissions, and you can customize access for each team member on that project. You can restrict certain members from viewing sensitive projects or give clients view-only access to specific project areas without exposing internal details.

Billing & Plans

How do I upgrade or change my plan?
Go to Settings → Plan & Pricing to view available plans and your current usage. Click Upgrade next to the plan you want. Changes take effect immediately and you'll be billed the prorated difference for the current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
How do I download my invoices?
Go to the Billing section from the left sidebar or top navigation. All past invoices are listed there with date, amount, and status. Click the download icon next to any invoice to get a PDF copy. Invoices are also automatically sent to your billing email each billing period.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
If you cancel your subscription, your account will be downgraded to the free tier at the end of your current billing period. Your data remains intact but you'll be subject to free tier limits. If you exceed those limits, older projects will be archived (not deleted). You can export all your data at any time from Settings → Export Data. Data is permanently deleted 90 days after account closure.
